From Islamism to the Colonization of the Middle East:
the Historical Origins of Conflicts and Wars
Keywords:
Wars, Middle East, West, Islam, ColonizationAbstract
This article historically analyzes the Middle East, starting from the hypothesis that the conflicts and wars in the region have their origin in the past, from the rise of Islam, through colonization and culminating in national independence. It was shown that through the historical contextualization of the rise of Islam it is false to seek to justify the conflicts between East and West from a perspective of rivalry between Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Considering orientalism as a theoretical basis, it is concluded that the apprehension of current conflicts and wars goes through these historical processes, specifically through colonization and decolonization, which are ongoing processes despite their formal end.
