Abstract

This paper links the audiovisual series Practices of Viewing (2021), by video essayist Johannes Binotto, with the Argentinean play Private Sector (2024), directed by Marcos Krivocapich. With the aim of pointing out the potentialities of performative research, on the one hand, we dissect Binotto’s work, which analyses the effects of various practices of visuality through the manipulation of filmic material. On the other hand, we observe how this analytical proposal transcends theoretical boundaries and operates in the performative arts in Private Sector, where it is at the service of aesthetic experience, political critique and humour.
