Abstract

This work offers a historization of the nuclear techno-policies diagrammed by Brazil and Argentina as semiperipheral countries - in scientific terms - and their relationship with the center represented by the United States. The organization of the same will begin from the decade of the 50; moment of institutionalization of studies related to atomic science. It will go through the maturation reached in the 1960s and the dictatorial interludes in the 70s; zenith of tension and rivalry between neighboring nations. Finally, the last two decades of the 20th century will be addressed; period of consolidation of the Argentine-Brazilian cooperation relations and moment also marked by the crisis of the scientific-industrial complex of the region's atomic power.
