The general aim of this article is to analyze the diplomatic relations between China and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay (ROU for its Spanish acronym) since they were established (1988) to the present. In the framework of this analysis we have defined the following specific objectives: a) to examine the international treaties signed between the RPCh and the ROU between 1988 and 2019; b) to describe the diplomatic missions carried out by the governments of both countries in that period; and c) to review the ROU’s parliamentary sessions involved in the political definitions on the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
